Congregational Development workshops
"Between Good-Bye and Hello: Clergy Transitions and the Healthy Parish" — This talk outlines some of the perils of rushing through the interim period between rectors, offers ways parishes can avoid those pitfalls and make the most of what seems to some a fallow time, and prepare with joy and generosity of spirit for the rector God is about to call.
"Opening the Windows: Becoming a Spirit-filled Church" — This keynote examines the characteristics of a church that has welcomed the presence, partnership, and work of the Holy Spirit into its midst, and offers parishes a way to adopt for themselves some of the strategies, attitudes, and practices that make space for the Spirit. Accompanying workshops on Spirit-filled worship and Spirit-filled leadership are also available.
"Evangelism for Episcopalians" — Drawing on the work of ELCA pastor and congregational development speaker Dwight DuBois, this workshop leads participants in deconstructing the typical definition of evangelism, helps jettison the negative connotations attached to it, and builds a new definition—one that Episcopalians can embrace. Add-ons to this workshop are available to help parishes assess their willingness to grow and change, infuse their public ministries with evangelism, and learn to view their welcome and hospitality ministries through an evangelistic lens.
