The Rev. Susan W. Springer was called as the sixth rector of St John's in June 2012. She was previously the rector of St John's in Logan, Utah, and before that worked as an administrator at St Thomas in Sun Valley, Idaho. A graduate of The School of Theology at the University of the South in Sewanee, TN, Susan was ordained to the priesthood in December 2009 after a varied career in the Alaskan oilfield and as a small businesswoman. She is the author of four children's books and an adult non-fiction. She served on the board of the Episcopal Preaching Foundation and has consulted to parishes on congregational development and transitions. Susan grew up on the Maine coast and shares her life and home with two Field Trial English Springer Spaniels. She enjoys many outdoor and mountain sports, along with singing bluegrass and good old rock-n-roll.
